Trail of damage from tornadic thunderstorms stretches from SW Houston to SW Louisiana

A trail of damage from tornadic thunderstorms on Tuesday stretches from southwest Houston, through the Golden Triangle, and into southwest Louisiana. The first tornado warning came out early in the afternoon in southwest Houston and the cyclone continued through Deer Park and Pasadena where numerous homes and businesses were damaged and a few were completely destroyed. On Wednesday meteorologists from the National Weather Service were on the ground and investigating the damage in an effort to determine which damage came from straight-line winds and which damage came from tornadoes, and also the strength of the tornadoes. The National Weather Service for the Houston-Galveston area released a report stating that it was an EF-3 tornado that tore through Deer Park and Pasadena. Investigators said it was two-thirds of a mile wide, it was on the ground for 18 miles, and it had maximum winds of 140 miles-per-hour. Meanwhile, as of Thursday the National Weather Service out of Lake Charles had not yet released a report about the damage in the Golden Triangle or southwest Louisiana Miraculously, no deaths resulted and only very minor injuries were reported.
