People walk along the beach to gather seashells or enjoy the sights and sounds. The bottom line is they want to relax. However, what Suzanne Arceneaux spotted during a walk last week at Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula was enough to raise the blood pressure and get the heart racing. She sent a picture of her discovery to KFDM 6 News in Beaumont after she saw on the sand what she called a strange fish and asked if anyone knew what it was. Hundreds weighed in with answers or guesses. One man said it looked creepy, while another person said it's a fish straight out the the depths of hell. Meanwhile, it was someone from Texas Parks and Wildlife who identified the creature as a stippled spoon-nose eel, or commonly known as a snapper eel. Fortunately, these creepy creatures are salt-water dwellers, so you won't find them in any of our local lakes and rivers.
