CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) - An investigation into numerous burglaries in the Beckville and Tatum areas has possibly been solved.
The Panola County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that a suspect identification was developed after following leads about the burglaries, which they said happened along Highway 795 and Highway 149 in the Beckville and Tatum areas.
They said the suspect was Kobe Holt, 25, of Carthage. Holt was pulled over for a traffic stop on June 24 and was arrested.
On Wednesday, June 25, investigators executed a search warrant at a home off of Highway 315 in Carthage which resulted in the recovery of some of the stolen property, including a gun and some power tools. The sheriff’s office said those items will be returned to their rightful owners.
They stated that based on evidence recovered so far, it is believed Holt is connected to at least eight active burglary investigations. They added that they will present that information to the criminal district attorney’s office.
Investigators are still searching for the remaining property, and additional charges are expected.
