Tracy Lawrence headlines 2024 inductees to Texas Country Music Hall of Fame

CARTHAGE, Texas (KLTV) - Three new inductees into the Texas County Music Hall of Fame were announced on Wednesday morning. The announcement was made at the Hall of Fame’s headquarters in Carthage. They honor “those who have made outstanding contributions to country music and were born in the state of Texas.” This includes singers, songwriters, disc jockeys and others. This year’s inductees include Roy Orbison (posthumously), Tracy Lawrence, and Barbara Mandrell, Irlene Mandrell and Louise Mandrell, aka The Mandrell Sisters. Orbison, a native of Vernon, was praised for his “distinctive and powerful voice” and for composing “complex song structures” with “dark, emotional ballads.” The Mandrell Sisters hailed from Houston and Corpus Christi and gained notoriety and fame across the realms of country music, television and the fashion world. “I’m proud to be from Texas and honored to be joining some wonderful performers at the Texas County Music Hall of Fame,” Louise Mandrell said in a recorded statement. Lawrence is a native of Atlanta and has released 14 studio albums, two of which went double platinum and eight number one hits on the Billboard music charts. This year’s induction ceremony and show is set for Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Carthage Civic Center. The Mandrell Sisters and Roy Orbison’s son will perform with the Texas County Music Hall of Fame’s band.
