A heartbreaking story coming out of Polk County where officials there say a toddler has died after being found unresponsive in a pond last week.
Polk County Today is reporting that the incident involving an 18-month-old child occurred in the Blanchard Community on the eastern shore of Lake Livingston on Thursday, March 31st. The child had been hospitalized in Houston through the weekend, but sadly died on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the Polk County Sheriff’s Department says they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
