Three people were injured in a three vehicle auto accident that occurred just after noon on Monday on the north side of Jasper. Police, fire and other emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 96 North at Martin Luther King Boulevard when it was reported that the crash had occurred. What caused the crash is still unknown and, at last word, officers from the Jasper Police Department were still trying to determine what happened. The southbound lane of Highway 96 was blocked for some time as emergency medical technicians tended to the occupants of the vehicles and workers from a local wrecker service cleared the scene of wreckage. Firemen were called to the scene but no fire resulted from the collision. The names of those involved or any other details have not been released pending completion of an investigation into the accident.
