Three people were injured in an accident just east of Jasper early Tuesday evening. It happened shortly before 6:00 on State Highway 63 East, just west of Farm to Market Road 1408.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, a 2011 Dodge pickup truck was traveling eastbound when the driver slowed to turn into a driveway. Clark said the driver of a 2017 Chevrolet van, owned by Advanced Alarm Systems in Beaumont, failed to control speed and hit the rear of the truck.
Clark said both drivers and a passenger in the truck were all injured and were transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital.
They were identified as Enrique Valdez, 48, of Jasper, driver of the truck, and Larry Neel, 38 of Jasper, driver of the van. The passenger in the truck was not identified.
