Three dead and one hospitalized after violent 25-hour period in Jefferson County

Three people are dead and one is hospitalized following a violent 25-hour period in Jefferson County. The first incident occurred at about too Easter Sunday morning. Jefferson County deputies said they responded to a report of shots fired during an event at the laday Rodeo Arena in the Cheek Community and arrived to find two people shot. Both were transported to a hospital where one, a 20-year-old Houston resident, died, and the other, a 37- year-old Beaumont resident, is still undergoing treatment. The names of the victims have not yet been released. Deputies said despite a large crowd being at the event, no one is cooperating with the investigation. The second incident occurred shortly after 2:00 on Monday morning. Beaumont Police say officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Elgie Street in the South Park area. Police say they arrived there to find two shooting victims following a home invasion robbery. According to police, one victim was dead at the house, while the other victim died after arrival at a hospital. The victims were later identified as Ahmad Hayden, 32, and Roven Dotson, 31, both of Beaumont. Meanwhile, police say the perpetrators, only identified as a group of black males, are still roaming free.
