Jasper Police are investigating after a theft of copper cable knocked out cell phone service at an AT&T tower on Monday morning.
A report filed by Sergeant Jimmy Neel said it happened at the sub-station and tower on Bulldog Avenue.
According to the report, access was gained by cutting through a fence that surrounds the site, and then approximately $5,000.00 worth of copper cable was cut and stolen between the sub-station and the tower.
The case has been turned over to detectives and remains under investigation.
