The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to Gated Rentals on Highway 63 East, just past the intersection of Highway 190 shortly after 9:00 on Monday evening when it was reported that a fire alarm had sounded there.
Firemen arrived and following a thorough search of the manufacturing facility found no sign of fire or smoke and it was speculated that lightning in the area might have set off the alarm.
Gated Rentals, a business that manufactures small houses is the newest employer in the Jasper Area producing jobs and also turning out many homes located at the former L-P Plywood Mill.
Due to the amount of wood materials and the size of the facility, firemen arrived with two pumpers, a tanker and a command truck in case the alarm turned out to be a real fire.
