The Texas Rangers are investigating a deadly officer involved shooting in Livingston. It happened Sunday night on Pan American Drive, about a half-mile south of Highway 190 and the Courthouse Square. Rangers say Livingston Police responded to a report of a man with a gun, but when they ordered him in both Spanish and English to drop the weapon, he refused. According to the Texas Rangers, the man then pointed the gun towards officers and they opened fire. The man, identified as 66-year-old Jose Luis Hernandez, of Livingston, was rushed by ambulance to St Luke's Hospital in Livingston where he was pronounced dead. Fortunately, no officers were injured.
