SHREVEPORT, La. - A DeBerry, Texas, man has been arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on multiple sex crime charges.
Walter Jeff Shadoin, 67, turned himself in on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He faces charges related to the sexual abuse of two teens that allegedly happened between 2007 and 2010 in Caddo Parish.
The alleged victims, now adults, were ages 13 and 14 at the time of the alleged incidents, according to the sheriff’s office. They reported incidents of sexual abuse and grooming involving Shadoin, who investigators say exploited his position as a family friend and mentor to isolate the victims and engage them in conversations about sexual acts on multiple occasions.
Shadoin has been charged with two counts of sexual battery, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.
