TATUM, Texas (KLTV) - The Tatum Police Department is another step closer in their investigation after several vehicles were burglarized at a baseball field.
According to a release from the department, property was taken from several vehicles parked at the Tatum Baseball field parking lot on S.H. 43 on June 26. Three officers responded to the scene around 7:40 p.m. but the suspects had already left, and their vehicle was not found despite several searches.
However, Saturday the Desoto Police Department in Dallas County made a traffic stop Saturday, finding several documents and other items in the vehicle that belonged to the burglary victims, according to the release.
The driver ran away after trying to evade the police in the vehicle and was not found even after police searched with a K-9’s. The Desoto Police Department temporarily detained the two passengers before they were later released.
The Tatum Police Department said they will be requesting arrest warrants for the two passengers, both of Florida, on several charges.
“Our officers will continue to work these cases until such time the suspects are convicted in a court-of-law,” they said in the release.
