SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport police have been searching for a man accused of stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry from a couple he was hired to care for.
Creighton Cathey, 40, has been wanted on a theft warrant after the victim reported several pieces of jewelry missing from her home. According to police, the victim and her husband had hired Cathey as a caretaker but no longer needed his services after moving to an assisted living facility.
The theft was discovered during a check of the property. The victim found her jewelry box had been searched, with an estimated $10,000 in valuables missing.
Cathey has been arrested in Bossier Parish.
