Interim Jasper Police Chief Mike Poindexter said late Wednesday afternoon that officers were investigating after a student sprayed mace inside a Jasper ISD school bus. It happened shortly before 4:00 in the southwest part of town. Poindexter said it was a 14-year-old boy and although he sprayed mace onto the floor, the contents were airborne and effected several students in the bus. According to Poindexter, officers went to the student’s house and spoke to his parents, and he said the case would be referred to the Juvenile Probation Department. There’s no word on if any of the students sought medical attention.
