A convenience store clerk was injured during a violent armed robbery on Monday night near Nederland. It happened at about 10:30 at a Citgo store on Highway 69. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says a man and woman robbed the store and the man was armed with a rifle which he pointed at the clerk and demanded money. Deputies say the clerk then began struggling with him over the rifle and was injured in the scuffle. The sheriff’s department says both suspects concealed their faces and they fled in an older model Ford pickup truck with lots of damage.
