FORT JOHNSON, La. (KALB) - An Army soldier and his wife were found dead at their home on-site at Fort Johnson on Dec. 2. Fort Johnson’s Public Affairs Office confirmed the deaths of Cpl. Perrin Ross, 24, who was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment, and Estephany Ross. Ross, an infantryman who entered the Army on Nov. 18, 2019, was stationed at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson since Apr. 4, 2023. “This is a tragic incident for the entire Fort Johnson community,” said Brig. Gen. Jason Curl, commanding general of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Johnson. “Our prayers are with their families, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. ”Fort Johnson said this is an isolated incident, and the community is safe. There is an ongoing investigation into the incident by the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.
