If you were hoping to see the solar eclipse on Monday, it appears that the celestial event might be a washout for Deep East Texas. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles says there’s a 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms, and some of the thunderstorms could be severe. Even though we won’t be able to see the 94% coverage of the Sun by the Moon, we’ll still have an interesting experience as the already cloudy and darkened skies will become almost like night at the apex of the eclipse at 1:44pm.
