Beaumont Police are investigating after skeletal remains were found in the northeast part of that city. However, a strange part of the story is that the discovery was made over a month ago, and the man who found the body inexplicably took the skull of the body to his home in Hardin County and didn’t report it to law enforcement until Friday. The skeleton was in a wooded area off of Helbig Road near railroad tracks. Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis says the man told his deputies that he found the skeleton on October 29th. The name of the man who found the skeleton has not been released. Over the weekend Beaumont Police detectives were collecting the bones, and now they’ll be working to try to figure out who the person was and how they might have died.
