SHREVEPORT, La. -- A woman called the Shreveport Fire Department Saturday evening to report that she was shot in the ankle. It happened in the 200 block of West 79th Street around 6 p.m. First responders took the woman to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officers say witnesses nearby saw a driver leave the scene after they heard multiple gunshots. No one was able to get a good description of the suspects or the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing with Shreveport police.
