SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department homicide detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Larry Lewis, who is wanted for his possible involvement in the Jan. 22 homicide that occurred in the Walgreens parking lot on Line Avenue. KSLA’s Donna Keeya talked with business owners about the manhunt and with police about their search efforts. Business owner Scot Boswell is like many in the twin cities, staying on high alert since learning about the manhunt for Lewis, who fatally shot delivery driver Billy Jamison in the Walgreens parking lot. Just like many surrounding schools, Boswell put his own business on lockdown in the first few hours of the search. “2, 3 hours, I mean. It went on, you know. When you sit 2 or 3 hours, and you’re just sitting and waiting, that’s a long time,” he said. Chris Bordelon, with SPD, says while the suspect is at large, people should be aware of their surroundings and stay safe by locking their homes and cars. Police say Lewis is considered armed and dangerous. In addition to this case, Lewis also has a warrant for his arrest in connection with an unrelated incident. To support the investigation, Caddo Crime Stoppers has increased the reward to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Terry McNaight, Executive Director of Crime Stoppers, emphasized the importance of community involvement in addressing violent crime. “We hope that the community will come forward with any information that can help law enforcement end this violence,” McNaight stated. Anyone with information about Larry Lewis’s whereabouts or this case is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373. Tips can remain anonymous.
