SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Shreveport police officer was injured Monday night while arresting a man running from a reported shoplifting incident. The officer sustained an injury to the arm and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The officer is expected to fully recover. The man accused in the incident, Quinton Pool, 50, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of theft, battery on a police officer, possession of narcotics and resisting an officer. He was located running near Olive Street and Cody Street following a shoplifting report in the 2000 block of Centenary. Police said Pool resisted when approached by officers. A taser was deployed, but Pool continued to resist, police said. He eventually was subdued and handcuffed.
