The Jasper County Sheriff's Department released a statement on Tuesday saying that a suspect had been identified and a warrant had been obtained for arrest in connection with recent burglaries in the Brookeland Area.
Officers say it is now believed that Amber Lynn Mock, 34, of Jasper broke into car washes and ice machines, taking money from the coin boxes.
Ironically, officers say the break in the case came when a State Trooper stopped a vehicle in the Brookeland Area and reportedly found items which he believed to have been stolen in the burglaries.
The investigation widened as officers Starkie and Lampman continued to seek information which ultimately led to identifying Mock as a suspect.
Officers have reportedly obtained a warrant which allowed for a search of Mock's vehicle where it was said have resulted in the discovery of tools and items connected to the burglaries, along with a small amount of drugs. However, there is only one part of the case missing and that is Mock who deputies are searching for and Sheriff Chuck Havard is asking for assistance in finding her from the community.
