Funeral services have now been set for Jasper Police Officer Chris Sherer. The 44-year-old married father of two died following a tragic accident on Friday afternoon. The service will be Thursday, 4:00pm, at Jasper County Cowboy Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until the time of the service. Chris Sherer had served in law enforcement for over two decades and he had worked at the Kirbyville Police Department, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, and at the Jasper Police Department where he was a school resource officer assigned to Parnell Elementary School.
