Polk County Today is reporting that a search was underway over the weekend for a drowning victim in the Trinity River. The report said the incident occurred on Friday afternoon under the Farm to Market Road 3278 bridge, just 900 feet south of the Lake Livingston Dam. According to the report, three men were wade fishing when they stepped into deep water. Two of the men nearly drowned, but they were able to make it back to shore. However, a third man was swept under water and never resurfaced. The two men who survived were transported by ambulances to the hospital in Livingston.
