The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a late evening house fire that claimed the life of a Silsbee man. Around 10:00 p.m. Saturday, the Silsbee Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2500 block of Alexander Road north of Silsbee. Units arrived to find a home engulfed by fire. First responders located the body of a man inside the house. Hardin County Justice of the Peace Charles Brewer has ordered an autopsy. Sheriff’s Office investigators and firefighters are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The victim's identity is withheld pending notification of family.
