School superintendents from Sabine and San Augustine Counties met with State Senator Robert Nichols this week. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss education issues ahead of the 89th Texas Legislature, which will convene in Austin in January 2025. This type of meeting is a tradition for Nichols. He meets with the superintendents of every school district within State Senatorial District 3 to hear their concerns discuss issues related to education. In a statement, Nichols said "The Legislature faces many challenges this session, and we cannot make good decisions unless we are listening closely to those we represent. Educating our children is and always will be one of the most important issues we face as a state."
