SHREVEPORT, La. -- A Sabine Parish woman has been arrested for allegedly filing false income information to receive government benefits.
Sue Ann Rivers, 53, of Noble was arrested following an investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation based on a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Health. LDH alleged Rivers concealed her income and marital status to receive Medicaid benefits.
Investigators said in an arrest warrant affidavit that Rivers presented false information to LDH on three Medicaid applications from Oct. 1, 2021 through March 31, 2024.
Rivers did not accurately report her marital status and household income to determine her Medicaid eligibility, investigators said, leading to a loss of almost $22,000 in government funds.
Rivers was arrested last week and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on felony charges of attempted government benefits fraud and two counts of government benefits fraud.
Her bond was set at $7,500.
