Sabine Grand Jury Returns Homicide, Rape Indictments

A Sabine Parish grand jury has indicted two men accused of a homicide and armed robbery in Many last month.

The indictments returned late Tuesday formally charge 18-year-old Isom Jermaine Scott, of Many, with first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder, and 18-year-old Alonzo Dharry Carter, of Many, with principle to first-degree murder, principle to attempted armed robbery and principle to attempted first-degree murder.

The indictments are in connection to the shooting death of Aly Sintra Garner, 64, of the 300 block of Andrew Street in Many.

Many police say they responded to a report of shots fired around the area of East Louisiana Avenue and found Garner’s body. He was shot once in the right chest and pronounced dead at the scene.

The grand jury also indicted the following on sexual abuse charges:

  • Jermaine Epps, 64, of Many, first-degree rape.
  • Michael Ryan Ezernack, 28, of Zwolle, two counts of first-degree rape.
  • Wayne Mullens, 64, of Many, first-degree rape.
