(Hemphill, TX) Over the course of the weekend, November 29, 2025 through December 1, 2025, Deputies from the
Sabine County Sheriff’s Office continued with the completion of Operation Crystal Ball.
Operation Crystal Ball started in March of 2025 with investigators conducting narcotic investigations throughout Sabine
County. The completion phase is now underway which includes the arrest of those individuals who were found to be
involved in the delivering/manufacturing of; or in possession of larger amounts of narcotics, specifically
methamphetamines (Meth). The operation has been one of the most successful narcotic investigations in recent Sabine
County History. During the course of the investigation over sixteen people, suspected of delivery charges, were
identified and arrest warrants requested.
Some of these suspects include referrals for Federal prosecution. Sheriff George Griffith will continue these types of
investigations in the future with the overall goal of reducing the availability and presence of meth through out the
County.
Arrested over this phase was Justin Todd Short (54) of Pineland, Texas for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1
[meth]. He was arrested on November 29, 2025 with 4.2 grams of meth. He currently remains in custody, under a bond
of $100,000.00 dollars. Lori Nicole Williams (41) of Hemphill, Texas for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance
PG 1 [meth]. She was arrested on November 30, 2025. She remains in custody under a $50,000.00 dollar bond. Kade
Harley (28) of Bronson, Texas for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 [Cocaine]. He was arrested on
November 30, 2025. He remains in custody under a $50,000.00 dollar bond. Then on December 1, 2025, Deputies
arrested Charles Cody Rhodes (39) of Hemphill, Texas for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 [meth].
He remains in custody, pending the setting of his bond.
These arrests, along with those from earlier are only the beginning arrests of this phase of the operation. Several
additional arrests will be coming in the next few weeks. The Sheriff’s Office will post these arrests after they occur.
Sheriff Griffith wants those that get involved in the sale or distribution of illicit narcotics in Sabine County, to know, that
