RUSK, Texas (KLTV) - The chief of the Rusk Police Department is on leave due to an active city investigation.
According to City Manager Bob Goldsberry, Chief Scott Heagney was placed on a paid administrative leave Wednesday after a complaint was made against him.
Goldsberry said day-to-day operations are being handled by Sgt. Jeremy Farmer while Heagney is away.
Goldsberry said the city hopes to complete the investigation within a few weeks. The nature of the complaint was not provided by the city.
