The Hardin County Sheriff’s Department says a road rage shooter is jailed and the victim is hospitalized following a weekend incident between Lumberton and Beaumont. It happened at shortly before 2:00 Saturday afternoon on Highway 69 at Cooks Lake Road. Sheriff Mark Davis says the alleged shooter, 52-year-old Thomas Wayne Wolcott, of Kountze, has been charged with two counts of Deadly Conduct and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His total combined bond is $450,000.00. The victim, 26-year-old Stephen Parr, was initially in critical condition, but has now been upgraded to stable condition. Sheriff Davis says Wolcott was driving a Nissan Versa when he fired shots into Parr’s Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. In addition to Parr being struck by the gunfire, Davis says it also caused a three-vehicle wreck. Davis says Wolcott did not stop, but during the accident the rear bumper of his vehicle was torn off, which assisted deputies in locating the vehicle and identifying him as the suspect.
