Pineland VFD has a new First Responders truck

The first responders division of the Pineland Fire Department has a new truck to respond to medical emergencies and rescue situations. The truck was built by Wildfire Truck & Equipment Sales in Alvarado, Texas. The truck features an emergency lights system from Whelen, an overhead emergency light bar from RIGID Industries, an Extendobed with an electrical chain, and a WARN Industries electric winch with wire rope. Funding for the new truck came out of recent grants received by the department. Those grants included $240,000.00 from the Texas A&M Forest Service, $750,000.00 from the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Fire, Ambulance, and Services Truck Fund, and $20,000.00 from the TLL Temple Foundation. The department also says that they are purchasing new self-contained breathing apparatus, new battery powered extrication tools, eight sets of new bunker gear, and a new 3,000 gallon combination tanker/pumper truck.
