RED RIVER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A crash in Red River Parish has left one man dead.
On July 7 at about 8:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 71 near Louisiana Highway 4. Troopers said 58-year-old Michael Walker of Coushatta was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado northbound when the truck left the roadway and struck a tree for reasons still under investigation.
Walker was wearing a seat belt, but he suffered severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. Investigators do not suspect impairment, though routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
