Rapides Parish Police Jury votes to sue Acadian Ambulance

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Rapides Parish Police Jury reportedly voted on Monday to take legal action against Acadian Ambulance Service.

KALB confirmed that on Monday, October 13, jurors voted to hire the Gold firm to handle a dispute around response time exceptions. Details about this case are still limited.

On Wednesday, October 15, KALB contacted RPPJ for more details and sent a Freedom of Information Act request for documents related to the potential litigation. Attached below is a screenshot of our email to RPPJ:Later that day, RPPJ responded with the following memo:

RPPJ also confirmed to KALB that they are pursuing litigation against Acadian Ambulance.

Acadian Ambulance previously served as the sole ambulance provider in Rapides Parish for nearly 30 years until the RPPJ’s Ambulance Advisory Committee named Pafford EMS the parish’s new sole provider.

Pafford began exclusive EMS services in Rapides Parish on June 10, 2025.
