The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department was involved in a pursuit on Tuesday afternoon. It began at about 4:20 on Highway 190 between Beech Grove and Dam B, and ended about 12 minutes later just west of Jasper. The deputy chasing the vehicle said that the driver started out slow and eventually was traveling at highway speed. Both Jasper County deputies and Jasper Police were able to get the vehicle stopped and the driver in custody near Lakes Area Veterinary Hospital on Highway 190 West. The name of the suspect has not been released pending formal charges at arraignment.
