The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to the 206 block of Avenue A, just west of Third Street shortly after 4:00 on Thursday afternoon, when it was reported that a power line had fallen, setting fire to the grass and brush in front of a home.
Firemen arrived on scene and within a short time were fighting the fire and keeping it from moving close to the nearby structure.
A neighbor said no one was living in the home where the fire occurred and no injuries resulted from the incident.
