A resident of Port Arthur is accused of committing a murder in Lake Charles. Investigators say 34-year-old Fabian Charles was involved in a physical altercation when he fired gunshots outside of a bar at about 5:00 Sunday morning. The bullets struck 25-year-old Lake Charles resident Javin Augustus. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. Charles was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon by Discharging a Firearm During a Crime of Violence, and Obstruction of Justice. He’s being held in the Calcasieu Parish Jail under a $1.7 million dollar bond.
