The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas has announced that a Port Arthur man has been sentenced to federal prison after his conviction on charges of Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Prosecutors said in August of 2023, 23-year-old Eren Jacory Wilson led Port Arthur Police in a vehicle pursuit until he crashed into a fence, and then he fled from police on foot. When they caught him, police said the previously convicted felon was in possession of a gun. The case was transferred from State District Court to Federal Court under the Project Safe Neighborhoods Act. U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone sentenced Wilson to 3 years and 5 months in federal prison.
