Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

An employee at the Polk County Jail is now in the jail herself and charged with two crimes. Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons says an investigation by the Texas Rangers resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Alyssa Marie Young, of Livingston. According to Lyons, the woman, who was a jailer, is accused of bringing contraband products into the jail and providing them to inmates on multiple occasions, and she’s also accused of stealing from an inmate. Young has charged with Theft of Property - an enhanced charge because she was a public servant – and Bringing a Prohibited Substance into a Jail Facility.
