Jasper Police were busy Wednesday afternoon trying to figure out the circumstances of a bizarre accident in which a late model Jeep SUV rolled upside-down while exiting a driveway. It happened shortly before 4:00 on Crockett Street about a half-block east of North Main Street.
When officers finally unraveled all of the information, they said that two brothers were in the house, one of whom was intoxicated. Police said he apparently tried to drive the Jeep and somehow flipped it over.
Although the vehicle landed on the street, the incident actually occurred on private property while on the driveway, therefore officers said that there would be no citation issued or arrest made.
Meanwhile, an ambulance responded and paramedics evaluated the driver. He was deemed to be ok.
