Investigators are asking the public to provide information on a shooting Thursday night in Deridder.
Deridder Police Department Deputy Chief Darren Hall said a call came in from a local hospital around 7:35 p.m. about a victim who came in with a gunshot wound in the leg.
“All the evidence we have reviewed makes this seem like it was an accidental shooting,” Hall said.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a hospital in Lake Charles with non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information on the shooting should call the police department at 337-462-8918.
