A police impersonator from Livingston has been arrested. Polk County Today is reporting that 38-year-old William Caruthers was originally arrested and convicted on a charge of Impersonating a Public Servant in 2020, and his latest arrest is for two recent incidents that occurred in Livingston and in Montgomery County.
The report said that Caruthers drives a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria that he has outfitted with a push bar on front and numerous emergency lights, and he wears body armor and carries a handheld radio.
According to the report, in late July Caruthers chased a motorcyclist with his emergency lights on and the Livingston Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for him on a charge of Impersonating a Public Servant.
The report said the most recent incident occurred in Montgomery County when Caruthers was involved in a wreck and at the scene he impersonated a law enforcement officer.
Caruthers was arrested In Montgomery County on a charge Impersonating a Public Servant and he’ll be transferred to the Polk County Jail to face the same charge.
