Two people are in custody in connection with a robbery that was reported to have occurred on the east side of Jasper.
Jasper Police Chief Garrett Foster said Monday that officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Carter Street shortly before 2:00 on Saturday afternoon when it was reported that a man had been robbed.
Foster said that following an investigation of the incident officers obtained arrest warrants and on Monday with the help of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force and the United States Marshals Service, a 20-year-old suspect and an 18-year-old suspect were located and taken into custody without incident.
Foster said that during the execution of the arrest warrants, two additional individuals were also taken into custody on non related outstanding warrants, including one individual who was wanted on a separate felony offense.
Foster said information obtained could result in the arrest of other individuals.
The names of the suspects arrested has not been released pending formal charges and arraignment.
