Pedestrian hit by vehicle on La. 14 in Lake Charles

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on La. 14 near Broad Street late Tuesday morning.

A KPLC reporter saw a Black man lying in the road while driving just before noon and called 911. The Lake Charles Police Department soon arrived at the scene.

A witness said he saw multiple officers perform CPR on the victim. He was then transported via ambulance.

As of 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, the victim remains hospitalized with critical injuries, according to Lt. Brenda Treadway of LCPD.

LCPD asks anyone with information regarding the case to call Sgt. Shaun Touchet at 337-491-1456 ext. 5428 or submit an anonymous tip through the LCPD app.
