SHREVEPORT, La. - A pedestrian died following a late-night crash in Shreveport on Saturday, according to police.
The Shreveport Police Department responded to the intersection of Jewella Avenue and Midway Street around 9:47 p.m. regarding a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Police say the Shreveport Fire Department was already on scene providing medical aid. SFD took the pedestrian to Ochsner LSU Health with life-threatening injuries.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office later told police that the pedestrian died.
SPD say the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox was southbound on Jewella Avenue, came upon a stopped vehicle and saw a person in the road. The driver tried to swerve but was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
