EVANGELINE PARISH, La. (KALB) - A parent has been arrested after threats were allegedly made towards a teacher and an Evangeline Parish School Board member, according to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. EPSO received a complaint on November 6 from the Assistant Superintendent that a parent, identified as Vashayla Skinner, 34, of Ville Platte, threatened him and a teacher. The threats happened after school board officials conducted an internal investigation, and Skinner was allegedly unhappy with the results. Skinner allegedly threatened to beat up the teacher and the assistant School Board Superintendent. Skinner was arrested for two counts of assault on a school teacher with a bond set at $1,500. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
