PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) - Police are looking for a suspect they say threatened a clerk with a knife before trying to make her leave with him. At about 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to a convenience store in the 700 block of West Palestine Avenue, according to a release from the Palestine Police Department. The release said a man entered the store, showed a knife and demanded money from the register. After the clerk complied, the suspect attempted to force her to leave with him, police said. She refused and he fled south on North Howard Street on foot. Police say the man used a mask to cover the lower portion of his face and was wearing black plants, black shoes with white near the soles, white gloves and a black hooded sweatshirt with a “Viking head” logo for a middle school in Houston. He also had a gray or brown backpack with a red tag with white print at the right shoulder and on the lower right back of the bag, police said.
