Overnight shooting on Parker Drive leaves man injured

A Jasper man is undergoing treatment but reported to be in stable condition after being shot in the early hours of Saturday morning. Police were called to the home of Elvin Dean Land at 109 Parker Drive on the southeast side of jasper, shortly after 2:00, when it was reported that the 65-year-old man had been hit by a bullet that came through his window while he was in bed. Land was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where he was treated before being transferred to Christus St. Hospital in Beaumont, where he was reportedly treated for an injury to his arm. Police haven't released any official statement on the incident. However, sources close to the case say there are no leads at this time. Land is a retired employee of the Texas Department of Transportation.
