Officials in Baton Rouge confirm the cold weather has taken two lives in Sabine Parish

KVVP in Leesville is reporting that two people have died from the cold in nearby Sabine Parish.

The story by Micah Pickering says the Louisiana Department of Health has updated the death toll as a result of Winter Storm Fern and and it is now reported that two people from Sabine Parish were found dead in their homes and LDH suspects the deaths were storm related.

The Louisiana Department of Health said:

"The Sabine Parish coroner has confirmed the deaths of a 62-year-old male and a 59-year-old female, both of whom died in their homes of suspected hypothermia following a power outage. The coroner has confirmed these deaths are being investigated as storm-related deaths."

The identity of these individuals has not been released at this time. These deaths are under investigation by the Sabine Parish Coroner's Office.
